Saudi Red Sea Emerges as Summer Destination with Diverse Offerings

by Prarthana Mary

The Saudi Red Sea region is being presented as a summer destination, offering a range of activities across its marine and desert landscapes. The destination aims to provide experiences above the water, under the water, and beyond the coastal areas.

Activities available above the water include sunrise paddleboarding and kayaking, kitesurfing, and windsurfing. Visitors can also opt for luxury sunset cruises on yachts or traditional dhows, participate in floating yoga sessions, or take chartered boat journeys to hidden islands and secluded beaches.

Underwater, the Saudi Red Sea features untouched coral reefs. Scuba diving is available at locations like Shebara, which opened in November 2024. Divers can observe marine life, including butterflyfish, parrotfish, moray eels, green turtles, and reef sharks among the coral formations. Snorkeling opportunities are also offered.

Beyond the sea, the destination provides desert experiences. These include opportunities for desert exploration, stargazing sessions, and wellness retreats. Resorts such as Six Senses Southern Dunes offer desert retreats focused on sustainability and wellness, with available wellness retreat bundles. Desert Rock Resort, integrated into granite cliffs, offers summer villa deals that include stargazing and bespoke desert wellness experiences.

The Saudi Red Sea aims to cater to those seeking both aquatic adventures and desert tranquility during the summer months.
